i got a flash and didnt get good results. i had soooo much knock i had to cut the timing in half almost. in my opinion ur better off getting a TBE then doing a tune but a custom tune... every car is different so i think mail in flashes are a waste to me.

I would attribute that to be your own fault. If I recall, you had a mail in flash with a drop in filter and you were boosting 22-24psi all while on stock exhaust and on pump 91 octane. Sounds like a recipe for disaster if you ask me!

dude I had nitro in my tank mixed with it. I never boost above 22psi on pump alone. and yes with the mail in there was 30 knock counts at one point at 21 psi.

if ur recalling a dropin only... that was the first 2 weeks I had the car. 6k later I do my own maps boost to 28psi and have 0 knock counts. there is others that say the same thing about mailin but I'm not saying names noteven the map I paid for cuz he is a good dude. I just think mailins don't work well.

i know that a tune will get you more then tbe, but i was saying that you will get alot more with TBE, and a tune sorry i didn't word it verry well

I actually got a flash from dynoflash and I didn't feel that much of a diffrence compared to stock. I only felt a diffrence after a mbc set to 20psi.

exactly. at 4000 rpm I had -1 timing advance. which it terrible. my map may have been for 93. but even with some other ummm stuff it still knocked. I had pull pull 2* off the mail in timing

I got my car EcuTek flashed over at TopSpeed, baseline was 261hp and 256tq...after flash the car made 300hp and 307tq... it made a huge diference... the car is completely stock, the only thing we did was remove the restrictor from one the boost lines... but, it definately needs a turbo back, once you get used to that power you always want more...and you want it to sound the part too...

So if you add mods to it after you have it flashed... don't you need to have it reflashed again?

check out vishnu's xflash for the ix, according to the website it gives you hp gains stock, and should be able to hit low 12's with it.
