Question BOV leak

I have a stock BOV on my 03 that I'm strongly suspect of it leaking. I run it up 3-4 grand in 4th and can hear the BOV sound power on. My boost gauge shows me making about 10psi max (engine hot). Cold I see 14-17 psi, but it heats up real quick.

Is there a way to check the BOV for proper action?

I'm almost certain I can hear the fraking thing blowing under throttle, and I'm missing lots of mid range power. A visit to the dunderheads at the dealership found nothing wrong while it was hooked up to their computer.

I tested mine when I leak-tested my intercooler piping. The only way to test it is to put the same pressure on the valve and the small nipple. I found this easiest to do while it was still attached to the car. The result of the test is that it began leaking at ~13-14 psi.

No mods, I need to get what I have running well first.

One dealer told me 9-10 psi is ok. I don't buy that.
