Stalling @ idle, only with AC running ...
Folks,
Looked around for this on a previous thread, did not find it -- if its there, please point it out to me. My mods are below in my .sig. When I go home tonight, I'm going to double check my HKS RS intake install for leaks on the intake path, but after the Evo has been running for about 20 minutes or so, if the AC is on, I get stalls -- RPMs drop below 500, sometimes it recovers, sometimes it doesn't.
Currently, normal idle seems to be around 850rpm (according to engine data scanner).
thanks --
dave

I did some testing yesterday and this morning -- its definately related to load on the engine @ idle. I stopped by the dealership and talked with their evo techs; they agree that it is either a vacuum leak or the idle control sensor/servo assembly on the throttle body. I haven't had a chance to thoroughly check for the vacuum leak yet (having to work really sucks). I did a cursory check last night on the lines that are easily accessible and neither heard (using a lenght of hose) or found (using some soapy water). I'm not likely to get a chance to work on it again until at least Thursday night.
I'm going to take my Evo to the dealership on Thursday and get the sensor/servo assembly checked on their diagnostic system. If its the sensor/servo, its a $300 part ... blah
I'll post back what I find later in the week.

ok, so I've pressurized the intake side of thing and found a single small leak on what seems to be the negative pressure line leading into the wastegate solenoid, fixed that and idle is marginally better. When it does drop, it tends to stabilize out a 600rpm, the climb back up. I've stalled it once in about 60mi of driving, but I think that may have been me being a spaz.
Bottom line is that the idle is better but still not good. I've got a 3:30 at the dealer to get the ICS coils analyzed/checked.
I'm open to suggestions, this is driving me nuts.
thanks,
