another clutch question? exedy stage 2

I'm looking at buying the stage 2 exedy cerametallic clutch. It's not the hyper single exedy disk with the purple coloring. But nonetheless it is a single disk, i believe its a three puck , correct me if im wrong. Anyways i've searched and found nothing on this clutch. Anyone know anything about it. Drivability, power handle, noise. some feedback would be cool

Contact Matt Gold from Exedy for more information. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it for the street. It should be quiet and handle good power but driveability will suffer due to the aggressive friction material just like any ceramic including ours.

We have a number of people running around with these.

Our Stage 2 - although normally a Sprung 3 puck - is actually a Sprung 4 Puck for the Evo.

It is a very stout cluth on the street and although just saying the words "four puck" normally scares me, it's suprisingly easy to drive thanks in large part to the sprung hub.

I think our Stage 1 and Stage 2 clutches are excellent buys for the money and are probably the biggest "sleeper" clutchs out there.

I currently make 300 at the wheels (on a MD All Wheel Dyno) with HKS Cams, 3071 Turbo, FMIC, etc and run the Stage 1 clutch with NO problems. Its a great clutch for a great price (around $500) and the Stage 2 isn't too shabby either (around $700).

If you were to ask my personal opinion - Id say go witht he Stage 1, but maybe Im just bias because I have one.

Good Luck

No, Stage 1 and our OEM clutch are NOT the same.

There are some people that try and pass off the OEM clutch as a "racing clutch", but its not true.

The Stage 1 clutch is Part # 05803. Stage 2 is 05952.

Stage 1 and 2 are both very streetable. The Stage 1 is more "stock" feeling as far as pedal and engagement, the Stage 2 is a little more agressive on engagement - but not "bad" by any means. The springs in the hub help a lot in the ability to slip and use on the street.

If you have more questions, feel free to PM me!
