The BB option is a 500 premium on the base kit price correct? And I heard somewhere (I thought it was Buschur himself) that the BB kit doesnt come with all the necessary hardware....

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

4ring,

That is freaking awesome!! I am actually extremely impressed with the 121 mph trap speeds with the BB500 (GT30R) turbo and a FLASH!!!

Very nice.

David for us budget minded people out there, what would you reccomend. A: BR500 with alcohol injection or B: BR500 with ballbearing upgrade? thanks

BS is all I have to say. There is no way you are getting 19psi by 3800 on a non bb br580. The guy on the forums here with the br500bb doesn't get boost that fast. You should datalog it and post some proof if you are gonna throw out such a far out claim.

Turbo13,

Not sure what I understand you correctly. Budget minded to me doesn't mean doing a turbo upgrade at all, doing a turbo upgrade blows any budget in my mind.

To answer the question though....the BB500 will spool faster than the standard bearing turbo but still not nearly as fast as the stock turbo. Personally if it were me I would use the BB turbo and then just use something with two maps in it, one for pump gas one for race gas.

Yeah I see what you are saying. By budget I mean I can't afford a stroker/GT35r combo with all the goodies. So for now I like your price/quality and figured that would be more than enough to hold me over. I guess I am confused everyone (yourself and Al) were pumping up the alcohol injection and I figured this would be a good setup. Have you had problems with the alcohol injection? Ballpark when would I see full boost on non BB and BB setup. Finally can I run your setup on the stock intercooler? Thanks much

I don't suggest doing the turbo upgrade until Stage 4 is done. Boost on the GT30 is around 4500, the GT35 is around 5,000.

No problems with the alky kits. The big turbos just work better with straight race gas as you can get really aggressive with the tune.

Having a ball bearing 50 trim hybrid turbo on my Eclipse I can say it chopped a good 400-500 RPM's off spool times over a similar sized turbo without the ball bearing center section. Full boost hits around 3200 where as the old setup was around 3600-3700 range. You can also get some decent boost for daily driving in the 2500+ range where as before it was painfull at best. Spoolup between shifts is also much faster so for a daily driver it really shines. I also run water injection to allow more boost on street gas and it also seems to boost torque when the water pump kicks in. Blue Windshield washer fluid burns really well in the 4G63.

For me the Ball Bearing option is worth the cost, now I just need to get a new quarter mile run with the 264 cams and better tune.

God damn man thats f'n crazy! Im assuming that crazy number was with alcy?

Al, do you have the dyno sheet for that 442whp run? The BR500BB is looking really sexy right now.

David, exactly how much bigger is the 3076 over your regualr BR500-BB turbo? My car is daily driver and I do a lot of roll-on racing, I need to keep my response, but the power increase may be more of an asset

I dont know what you know about turbos but I am getting that boost by that rpm. I have other mods that made this happen I am not running a stock head or throttle body or intake manifold. Getting the air in and out of the head is the key. The evo head is very restictive with a 20% increase in cfm and a 75mm throttle body with a custom intake manifold and Sean Ivey behind the controls of the AEM that is what I get. Now with a stock head the best I got is 10 psi by 4000 rpm with a SAFC2 and a stock ecu. If you believe me or not I dont care I just wanted to post what I got and give some information to everybody. I am very happy with my set up and when I run race c-16 and turn up the boost to 30 psi this turbo hits hard. I have no desire to change my turbo. just my 2cts

If you have no desire to change your turbo then why are you trying to sell it?

Here is the link to your for sale thread you posted just over a week ago if you forgot already. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=132363 .

As far as your boost I will see it when Ivey is tuning your car and mine in a few weeks. David Buschur was just posting in here and saying that the gt35r was not reaching full spool till 5k and I was just wondering how you found the magic dust to make your non bb gt35 equivalent spool 1400rpm's quicker. why don't you post up a dattalog if you have aem ems for sure you have dattalogged it. Often times when people think it spools and when it actually spools are two extremely different things. It's just really hard to believe especially when the guy who designed the kit says otherwise. If I am wrong I am happy for you and that must be one hell of a ride. I have a gt3076r on my car and am happy with it but I don't get spool up anywhere near that fast unless we are talking about fifth gear then I get full boost before 4k.
