How loud is this BOV at the out of the box setting? I have a Greddy TypeS, I love the drivability and I don't want to give it up, but I'd like a little more sound if possible.

It actually adjusts how much to let off into the atmosphere or recirc by how much boost you are running. So it cannot be called a 50/50 75/25 or anything like that because it is constantly changing to give you the best performance.

Ben

(settings from the factory are almost perfect in 95% of cars. some people like to adjust them a little but it is not required.)

Oh? So now we have active variable pressure BOV's eh? The wonders of technology.

Sounds pretty cool though, I just wish BOV's had a "test drive" option...

Question. So if this is a variable BOV, how much is recirculated and how much is VTA at any one point? What determines the "optimum" amount, and how can you change that?

It is just set up so the more pressure you have in the system the farther the piston opens to release out the secondary port. The ports are offset so you will get to the recirc port before the secondary port. And if you take you finger and push the piston in the valve you can push it so the secondary port is almost all the way open. sorry I my describtion is not very good. You can check out the one on our site.

Ah, I get it. So under low boost, it recirculates most of the air, but once you build lots of it, it'll both VTA and recirculate? Interesting... and absolutely no fluttering/surging problems? I just might have to get one of these..

no problem at all...i love this aps...
the one thing i dont like is that the neck on aps is abit shorter compare to stock one.
if it is longer , you ll get seal better by putting rubber hose farther in.

No complaints here, APS all the way...
It actually cured the stalling problem I had with JDM MR Bov.
