To break 400 whp (depending on the dyno) you will need a larger turbo. If you do go that route, be sure to get a good quality kit that has demonstrated good results. There are alot of turbo kits out there, but some seem to provide better driveability and/or power than others. The ATP kit, for example, has a bit of a rep for being laggy.

If you can live with a solid 350 whp then you should be able to get there with either a TME, or a stock turbo with a 10.5 hotside. I noticed that your parts list didn't include an upgraded fuel pump - you'll need one. I've had great luck with my Walbro - others can't stand theirs.

I think its very possilbe to get 30 MPG, or at least somewhat close. AEM EMS allows u to run any fuel set up u want, so u could lean out the car a bit in the lower revs in order to use the least amount of fuel required. For example, some guy who uses a 700+ HP supra can get 32 MPG when he turns the boost down and keeps his right foot in check. It all depends on your level of tune, but im very confident that 30 MPG is not a stretch at all.

Thumbs up

That's xactly how I was going to do it. I have a VR4 with 400 whp and I can get 20 mpg but it's poorly tuned. I've gotta start over and try again

You said you had the tubular manifold.. in that case I dont see why you couldnt go with the atp kit.. I think the reason they have been "laggy" is because of the stock manifold catering to the smaller stock turbo.. In your case of 400whp I would go with the 3076r, some people call that the original gt30r, I myself am going to use the 3071r on the stock manifold as it is not a laggy turbo at all and I want to stop at 400whp.. If you want 400whp and maybe down the road more.. do the 3076. I agree with the person who said get a fuel pump.. may as well do a nice rail and reg with that setup as well. If you are like me and know you want the quickest spool possible and never want to break much over 400whp go 3071r it is a very nice turbo

P.S I am right around 360whp and on no special EMS system stock with safcII and I get 28mpg so your your prolly gonna end up pretty close.
