HKS 30th Ann. worth it?
the 30th anniversary edition is almost $200 more than the hipower, is it really worth all the extra money? im pretty sure there not much of a difference in power if any...correct me if im wrong

Same piping dimensions. 30th is stainless, hi-power is coated. Thats the only difference. Persoanlly I would not shell out big bucks for an exhaust that wasn't stainless steel.
Also, I like the RnR setup better than both of these. Full stainless, 3" all the way (HKS tapers at the cat), comes with the carbon-ti muffler, and is the same price as the 30th roughly.

Installed the TurboXS RFL-Ti exhaust last week and it is bad ***. Rallsportdirect gave me an awsome deal on the full 3" system with cat delete. Arrived in two days after I ordered it and the shipping was free.

I measured my Carbon T/I at the flange and it was 2.75 (like their downpipe), not 2.5. Since these should be the same I would assume they are all 2.75, but I could be wrong. Mine is though.
Good luck.

HKS sell two different downpipes; one is 2.76" diameter (they recommend this for their upgraded turbo kit) and the standard one is 2.56". With the stock cat, I think the latter is probably the best option.
Buschur fit a 2.5" DP mated to the stock cat on their new BR330 and BR350 cars sold through Medina Mitsubishi.

HKS makes great exhaust products. They always fit great, sound mean, look like top $$ products, and they usually produce slightly better whp gains than most others. I have the HKS Carbon-Ti, and I love it. I don't think you can go wrong with an HKS exhaust. Personally, I'd go with the 30th anniv. over the regular, I wouldn't get an exhaust that wasn't stainless. Also, like siantjab said, mine tapers to 2.75" at the flange, not 2.5".

the fact that it tapers, for the level of mods most people will do, makes zero difference quite honestly. Yes a full 3 inch is "better" in the theoretical sense, but the power levels that can be achieve with an exhaust that has a taper is, for all practical purposes (stock turbo, etc), the same as with the full setups.
Yes HKS makes 2 downpipes - only 1 fits the stock turbo though.
The exhausts (Hi Power, 30th Anniversary and Carbon Ti) are all the same, the latter 2 are stainless piping, and the carbon ti has the carbon wrapped muffler with ti tip - those are the only differences. The price difference is not as much on the Hi Power-30th Anniversary (street price difference of around $130). The carbon ti takes a big bump up though

I think its nuts to spend over 500 bucks on an exhaust that isn't stainless. I mean we dropped so much cash just to own an EVO why cut corners now? I am getting the 30th Anniversary exhaust after next pay and when I finally do a bunch of performance mods I'm just going to cut the taper off and weld in a 3" piece. Problem solved.
