WELL.....what is it? i never had any tranny problems, nor do I. I have stock clutch with almost 20k miles, no problems.

It almost feels like my brake pads arent snug in there..and when I press the break, it pushes the pad, then pushes on the rotor..thats what it "feels like"...no problems in any performance with my breaks/tranny though..hmmm. I have project mu pads, but have been running them for almost 8 months.

mine will do it after I let it sit for 7 to 14 days without driving. after I warm her up I'll go to put it in reverse and the car wont budge under just a little idle. i give it a little more gas and bam pop and I'm off. very weird and it worries me!

LOL dude let me help you. Thats the rotors just sticking to the pads, due to time and rust. No issue at all. If you wash your car and let it sit for a hour or so you will see them rust. then try back up it will give the same effect. No issues. Also when going from forward to reverse there will be a sort of clunk, its just drive line noise. Its just the slack in the drive train. Like axles, tranny, diff, and stuff like that. Evo hasa huge amount of joints in drive train so noise should be expected. Hope this helps some

are you talking about rotor rust clunk or the clunk of the rear diff when you put it in reverse.. either way now you know, both are normal..

Clunking when pressing on the brakes after going in reverse is normal. Basically it's almost as if the pad was manufactured a hair off and doesn't fit snugly. I got this on rear Hawk pads. I changed them back to project Mu and it was gone.

RASTMP...is your EVO brand new?? or second-hand??

If it's a 2nd hand vehicle it could be possible damage in the center diff. Had this problem, when I reversed and locked steering wheel it made a clunking noise. 4 bolts that hold in diff housing where broken.

But this is only if it's 2nd hand...if it's brand new, sorry can't help u.

This sounds like the noise I get every day when I back up. It sounds like the rear differential engaging. Others on this site report the same thing.

Basically, I put it in reverse, and as soon as I start moving there's a split second where everything "catches" before the car starts moving. I get an "aluminum" sounding "clunk" and the car moves. I've had my EVO for 22,600 miles with no major problems, and I get this sound almost every day.
