Here is another perspective on the issue.... the stage 3 factory upgrade for the SRT-4 (2.4 liter) is a step up to a mitsubishi 15GK2 compressor wheel (the "smaller" of the TME compressors, not sure what compressor housing) along with their propriatary exhaust manifold/turbo hot side housing setup. I am not sure what turbo the SRT-4's have stock.

Ya know, I just recently spotted that and was a little surprised.. I think the CHRA and compressor cover are VERY Similar to what we are using, I think their STOCK compressor wheel itself is a design based on the earlier 16G which means thats probably a pretty significant upgrade..

Anyone have a 15GK2 wheel? I'd really like to get one to see what the dimensional differences actually are compared to the 16G6 wheel.

I don't really know the benefits of that wheel, but I can't see their turbo being all that much different than what we have, but if their using a 15GK2 wheel on 2.4 liters displacement, they may be onto something.

Thanks for all of the input! I am planning on doing a 2.3L motor build in the near future. I am using HKS 264 cams, mildly ported head, ported and ceramic coated factory exhaust manifold, factory ECU with an EXED, full 3" exhaust including CAT, and one of the FP titanium w/10.5 turbos. I am hoping this will give me lots of low and mid range torque without dropping off too bad on the top end. I am keeping the factory red line 7250 also...

Move it to 8000, stock is 7500 for me, I have it set to 8000 and love it. I think I have to set it higher cuz I keep hitting the limiter, but I am 2.0

Yeah I find I bounce off the rev limit I have set on my second-third shift.. Occasionally in second gear I hit a MAF or Boost cut that I have manually set in the UTEC.. Going to do some logging this weekend so I can find the right number so I can raise it.

Evoeight,
Good topic. I spoke with Eric at AMS twice about this very topic. He said there are no problems doing this at all and that I'd make 20% more torque (I'm also going 20 or 40 over). He said the turbo will spool much faster.

In my case, I made 370whp and 355ftlbs with my Vishnu Stage 1+ with the 10.5 Ti turbo. So, with the AMS 2.3 stroker, I'm predicting a few more horsepower (maybe 10), but 420ftlbs. I can't wait to overlay the two dyno charts. I hope I am not dissappointed. My biggest question is how the car will feel at the higher rpms. I know it will fall off, but will it "feel" like it is completely out of breath?

I am very interested in how your set up turns out. I really want to have more low end and mid range torque. My biggest question also is how much will it fall off on the top end. I have a feeling it will be very acceptable...

At the moment I'm doing something very similar.. essentially a TME turbo and 2.3l stroker with all the trimmings.. I have my own "Tricks" that I'll be attempting along side the regular fare though.

My wild *** guess: I predict the wall will be hit around 6000 rpm using the stock turbo. Depending on whether or not there is head work done this may end up earlier. I'm not sure where you'll run out of breath using the 10.5.

Any updates on this topic? Has anyone used the TME on a stroker motor yet or has everyone went White Rabbit?

There is a guy in Texas who is running a WR on a 2.3. It was only good for passing a Carrera GT on a long straight. If that's good enough for you, cool
