running Evo on 87 octane w/ water or H2O/R-OH injection

Since the evo only requires 93-94 octane to run.....and water or alcohol injection is suppose to raise 91 octane to >100 octane or should i say raise gas to the combustion properties of race gas, does anyone know if water injection will raise 87 gas to close to race gas.....since the difference between 91 and 87 is 4 octane?

I don't know. I wouldn't bother with it. Might as well just stick to 91+ IMO.

since water should only come on while you are on boost of about ten lbs or more what are you going to do with regular throttle? there is a whole lot of driving that is not at high boost.

water injection doesnt increase octane rating,it just helps with cooling the temp inside the combustion chamber like how race gas works.91oct with water injection would act as like you have a 100oct in there since you can run higher boost without running it too hot and prevent knocking.
