Walbro Fuel Pumps...

Is it just me, or is the Walbro loud as hell sometimes??? I was pulling out of my parking space in Fort Myers yesterday, and I could hear the pump whirring away plain as day. It quieted down a few minutes later though...of course, it could've just been road noise covering the sound of the pump. I know they are supposed to be noticeably louder than stock, but damn...

Yup, it is loud. I just heard it this morning driving back home. However, when the tank is full it is not as loud. Best idea have a FAT chick sit on the right side of the back seat and that should do it.

Yeah...my tank was almost empty when it was really loud...guess it echoes inside the tank or something...heh heh...

In my mazda mp3-turbo it would get louder as it would become less full. So if the gas light was on- it'd be loud as hell.

I can hear mine when the radio is off and I'm just sitting in traffic. Ususally when the fan kicks on the change in pitch from the pump is most noticable. But hey, that's what the radio is for, covering up squeaks, rattles, and the pump noise!

Has anyone tried putting some sound deadening mat under the rear seat?

Hmm I'm unsure how well this would work. The noise isn't just coming up into the seat area- but it radiates outward and downward as well. I'm sure it would kill some of the noise, but not all.

just a thought. Keep an eye on the pump. Mine finally kicked the bucket after all that noise and had to get a replacement pump.

Bah...I'm not worried about the pump...it's always noisy...just worse when the tank is near empty...

Ok bro, I am proof. The noise got louder and louder at the tune and became more frequent. It finally died and there are witnesses.

No sweat man. Just looking out for you. I would hate for you to get on it then POW. Just be cautious of your throttle response. If you feel it going then chances are very good that its on its way out.
