Yeah I hated the the sound of the Walboro, sounds so cheap (well, it is)!

I ended up ditching it for the Supra Fuel pump... more $ but better quality!

Anyone know if the Supra Fuel Pump fits in the EVO like it does the DSMs?! I know you need adj. FPR though

Yesterday I started a thread asking about the Zytec ITP116 High Pressure Fuel Pump which is in the MR FQ400 but nobody responded. Does anybody know anything about this?

ehhh- just get the walbro and save your money for another mod. I haven't seen any complaints on any walbro pump as far as performance goes. I ran the same one in my other car for a year with no problems at all. If all you're worried about is the sound- then performance isn't what matters to you.

Amen! I had one in my DSM, soon to have one in my EVO also serves as a second turn signal sound atleast in my eclipse it did. LOL If you have one you know what i mean..... Anywho performance cars make noise. It's the nature of the beast. The 255 is a proven pump, just about everyone and their grandmother use one. Don't let the monsterous roar scare you....

J/K It's not that bad.... But you do notice it specially when you get low on gas, it also serves as a gas guage. I have found many other uses for the pump other then to supply gas to the engine the noise it makes has a various range of uses from signal sounds to gas guages.

not sure if people are aware of this but, its usally not good to run the tank very low because the fuel pump is no longer submerged in the fuel as a heat sink.

How low is very low? what is a heat sink good for? to warm the gas. I wait till the gas light comes on then about 20 miles. The guage will go below E. My pump is loud I just put it in a few days ago and havent got around to putting the seat back on. (I now have a two seater) You can really hear how load exhaust is with the seat off! (catless 3" turbo back). Last the install was a snap. 25 min.( I guess i'm not done yet 3 days. lol)

the heat sink is to keep your fuel pump cool. like all electronics (your fuel pump) heat kills it.

Thats not necessarily true - Im willing to give up things for performance, but to listen to whiney cheap fuel pump... that just sucks. Lets face it, the walboro is a cheap pump. Its $100. You get what you pay for. Does it work? Yes. It is nice. No. LOL

Really you should use an adjustable FPR with the Evo Walbro upgrade too. At least on mine. Mine runs a rail pressure of 52psi with the vacuum line disconnected, 48psi with the line connected (264 cams). I had a flash to scale for the new pump and 680 injectors so running rich wasn't an issue.

Installed mine on the evo today. Sounds just like it did in my mazda. Actually it's a bit quieter. I have a full tank of gas- so I'm sure it'll get noisey once it gets empty- can't wait! hehe

How was the install? Also do you have any type of fuel correction? Can you just drop this in and not correct fuel?
