Ferrea or Supertech valves?

I am going to get the head built so I need some opinions as to which one you think will be better? I will be getting the 1mm over sized valves.

I have used Ferrea in many other applications. They manufacture high quality cylinder head components. A very good choice indeed

I had the option of going with either when I ported my head - I chose Ferrea.

Unless you are going to run a lot of (> 30 Psi) boost I would recommend not going 1mm over and sticking with stock size valves.

Who's porting your head?

You're misunderstanding me. My recommendation is not to go with oversized valves unless you plan on running high boost. It is possible to get too large a port job for your application.

I'm running a ported head w/ a stockish turbo (10.5 backhousing) and to be honest I believe that porting has made my engine laggier down low. I'm running stock size valves and a street port which is not that aggresive compared to some. The restriction in my setup has essentially become the turbo.

Exactly. I was told this by the company that ported my head. It would have only been marginally more expensive for me to go with oversized valves, so it was not a question of money, just what best fit my application. This company (Portflow) has been around for a while and are quite reputable. They did beautiful work on my head. For additional info on them see attached: http://www.portflow.com/frame.htm
