Back in Dec. of 04 I had my 2nd 3rd and 5th gear synchros replaced. Today I was cruising along on Novato blvd. and felt a rough 3-4 shift under partial throttle. Wondering what it was, I pulled onto a side street. slowed, put it in 3rd, then accelerated enough to spool the turbo and then shifted to 4th at about 4500. CLUNKGRIND. ****. I knew that exact sound, my 5th was doing it when I first got the transmission worked on. Back to have it worked on at SRM I guess. Should I ask for a transmission replacement this time, or a factory rebuild? Will it do any good? It seems like this thing gives up the ghost when it's not under any real load... I would think it would do it when I'm driving hard or something. Are the transmissions in the 2003's crap?
