idle problems! *help! please!!!

o.k. everyone... i think things have quickly gone sour for me... just not sure...

cams have been installed on an evo (264/272 staggered set up)

now.. their are idle issues....

every now and then... idle dips down to 650 but then raises back up to 850 (normal...)

everything was checked, rechecked... and checked again as far as the installation was concern... rotated the crank 3x... TDC was verified as far as timing is concern...

the idle issue can be replicated by opening the hood and slamming it down to close it...

anyone know what the problem could be? please help! thanks!

You added cams thats all even the flavor you chose 264/272 have minor idle problems. For a like stock idle you should go 264 all the way.

so everything's fine...
i'm aware of a lumpy ilde... a consistent choppyness.... but the way it idles...
it runs fine for a bit... dips down... runs fine again... as if it will almost stall...

let me grab my laptop... i'll record it...

thanks for looking everyone

Mines is 272/264 and do the same thing.I have a helix intake and when the AC fan kicks it hicups a little. I read my AF ratios and found the cars is idling on the lean side thats why it is almost stalling sometimes.

What kind of mods do you have on it as far as intake? Slamming the hood is normally a bad MAF sensor.

Who did the cams? Were the lifters bled? Did a rocker fall off?

intake, TBE w/ test pipe, upper IC pipe, cams, injectors, fuel pump, safc

cams were installed @ a local shop...
lifters bled? not sure what's involved with that...

rocker falling off? not sure what that exactly means either...
everything was torqued back down to spec... i was watching the install the whole time
