if you take the head off and take the cams out and put the same cams in do you have to bleed the lifter?

 

I never bled the lifters and have no ticking noise. Maybe i got lucky lol

 

If you put a new head in without cams installed I think you need to fill the lifters up with deisel and bleed out the air

 

good idea ive seen people forget this step

 

not bleeding the lifters wouldn't cause the ticking noise, it would cause bent valves, you got really lucky.

just did my cam install. bled my lifters and everything is smooth as silk !

 

Im a newbie when it comes to cams, but im looking to throw some aftermarket cams in mine pretty soon. This may be a dumb question, but do i need aftermarket cam gears or not. which gears are prefered and what are the pros and cons of aftermarket ones and the adjustable ones.
