HKS 3037s Spool Up
woobos, I have the HKS gt3037s kit and on a 2.0L with ported head and 272's. stock ECU flashed with -5deg on the timing (don't ask).
Was getting full boost 22psi in 1st and 2nd at 5500rpms 3rd at about 5000.
Changed to the .73 A/R and stroked to 2.3L. Now full boost at around 4-4500.
You'll much prefer the .73!

I ordered the .73 exhaust housing. My timing during spoolup is low. I also had it tuned lean during spool up trying to heat things up. Have you heard of other 3037 (w/ .87) owners getting full boost by 4200rpm on a 2.0 block? I'm trying to troubleshoot here. Do you the our head ports are too big? Any suggestions will be appreciated

The t67 cars I have been in with aem ems don't make full spool, 21psi, till around 5000. So they should be able to get a gt25r to reach full spool under 3000 since the spool up on the 35r is faster than the spool up on a t67? Whatever. I love it when people post up wild facts without proof. So I gues people like David Buschur/ AMS/ RNR/ and vishnu are all doing it wrong because their 35r's are not spooling till 4800-5000 on a 2.0l. Why don't you post up a data log with engine load and engine speed so we can see some proof.

The .73 that you ordered will spool quicker and it won't trouble your top end, unless you plan to shift at 9000rpm
. The .63 would spool even quicker! You'll be ok with the .73 and if need be you can add some timing in the lower rpm range to spool things quicker

I thought there must be something wrong with my setup when I'm hearing pple spool up @ 4000-4200rpms.
