Cams + Gears

There seems to be a bit of a discussion on who purchases gears and when.. so lets take a poll.. I for 1 Have both for power purposes... Whats your opinion?

if your using stock cams you dont need gears... make sure you get a kevlar belt and balance shaft belt if you change them

not with out some supporting mods its really not worth it.. i dont know of many that use them on stock cams... do you have any numbers on this?

well of course youre going to want supporting mods
retarding the stock cams -5/-5 yields impressive gains and gives top end power

Pushing what? If you mean bringing the valves too close to the pistons... a HKS 280 degree cam straight up starts ramping the valve up before a stock cam at -5 degrees.

im gettin the works 269's and they come with springs and retainers in the package deal... they said you dont really need the cam gears cuz the cams already displace the power pretty well with just the cams themselves... and the sprigns and retainers will help with any idle issues i hope.
