AMS exhaust question

I'm looking around at exhausts, and the one im leaning towards as of now is the AMS turboback exhaust. I was looking around on their website and i found this http://www.automotosports.com/evo4_test.asp. Are those numbers the difference before and after putting the exhaust on? Those numbers seem very high for just an exhaust. If anyone has any info about the AMS exhaust, such as hp increase, sound, quality (well, i know its well made because its from AMS) and any other information i would appreciate it if you would share it with me. Thanks a lot!

I really can't say much about its performance, as I installed it along with my GT3076R kit. But the sound is a bit louder than my Buschur w/ Magnaflow I had previously. I'm extremely pleased with the sound and especially the craftsmanship. This thing is a work of art. Fits better than my Buschur did (and it fit well). The welds are of the same quality that you see in there turbo kits.

Their fabricator is no joke. I wish they were closer or I'd have all kinds of work for that man.

I was looking at theirs too but it seems they use 3 bolt flanges as oppose to two bolts. So you could'nt interchange other brands w/ standard two bolts. Am I right about this?

And from my experience AMS w/ resonator was quiet at cruising but gave nice aggressive growl at full throttle.

Do they use magnaflow cans too?

Sound quality for the AMS is one of the best that I have heard.

justDSM- does yours have a hi flo cat or not? I live in a small suburban area with pretty uptight cops and i was wondering if it would be too loud without a cat

Vibrant muffler

You are correct. When they finally came out with a high flow cat to go with the catback it only came 3 bolt flange up front so I couldn't use it with my downpipe.
They basically told me too bad so I went to David Buschur and he helped me with the cat problem. Another reason I love Buschur Racing, not even their exhaust and they fixed it for me. I am so tempted to switch over to the Buschur catback.

I have the ams exhaust, and I love it. I went with the high flow cat so I wouldn't have to worry about not having one, and I'm glad I did. The only complaint I have is that its not compatible with any other evo exhaust piece, but there really shouldn't be a need for that. Otherwise, sound is really nice, as described above, and was a very noticable power increase as well.

No cat on my setup, and I'm postive that's contributing. I also wonder how much my turbo kit affects the volume.

From the videos I've seen of the AMS exhaust on stock turbo'd cars it appears to be much tamer than those with the AMS turbo kits. Best bet would be talking to Eric/Jim over at AMS and see what they've got to say.

Yeah but I brought my parts a long time ago so they had a filler pipe because they didn't have a cat yet. So it's not like I knew they would do that.

3bolts flange---vs---2bolts flange
on 3''pipe...
i think 3bolts flange is better stronger and seals better for 3''pipe since 3''pipe is big .
and ...they got fully ss evenflange ...and hanger? not sure.
but they do have double rip hanger (alot stronger than single holder)
i ll go with ams if i had to do it over.
