I don't own an EVO so I cannot speak from experience. The clutch will live longer if you "dump" it regardless of RPM, but that is harder on other parts. It is not necessarily the RPMs that are so critical, but the amount of slippage and the amount of power that went into heat rather than motion. From a theoretical standpoint, if you have a heavier flywheel the RPMs can be lower at the launch, if it is lighter, then you need to launch at a higher RPM to get the same results. There are a lot of other variables that would affect launch RPM's, but I will leave that feedback to the more experienced EVO builder to give you.
