Question Need your opinion ACT Clutch

I saw this ACT clutch at http://www.act-clutch-shop.com/ACT_C...itsubishi.html

They claim to teat the clutch in a few ways to strengthen the pressure plate, bearings....etc

Has anyone bought this? What do you think???

Haha...I have the best of both worlds...screaming deal on an ACT and fidanza flywheel from NoLimit, and then had it installed by the awesome guys at Gruppe-S! I have had it in for about 3k miles, and I really love it. The pedal was a little bit heavy at first but I got used to it really quick. Holds all the power my stock clutch died trying to without a hint of slippage.

I don't know about the shop you linked to but I can tell you anything you want to know about our stuff. Make sure the pressure plate and disc are in our packaging. There will be an SFI certification sticker on both parts along with engraved logo, date, etc. on our components.

Words of caution to all: I have seen some bait and switch going on with some shops because we sell components as well as kits. Not to speak bad of the shop you mentioned because I really don't know about them.

Im looking for a clutch that has some of the friendly traits of the Mitsu clutch but Im trying to avoid deceleration noise and too hard of a clutch feel. Im also sticking with the stock clutch line and clutch restrictor; with dealership install
Surprisingly, the stock clutch was in good shape even after many spirited mountain/canyon drive during the season.

I take it that the MB7-HHDS is the only clutch kit from ACT for the Evo 8?

ACT offers the MB7-HDSS, and the MB7-HDR6. The HDSS is the ACT Heavy Duty clutch with the street disc, and the HDR6 is the same heavy duty pressure plate, but with the 6 puck disc. The 6 puck is harsher, but will hold more power. You will not be disappointed with an ACT clutch. We have used them in all of our race cars, and love them.

We have the clutches and combos with our own lightweight flywheel here:

Hope that helps!

don't get the 6 puck, your transfer case wont like it, and it's hard to drive it daily (higher pedal pressure, harder and immediate engagement, etc.)

i got mine from logic performance when they had the sale back when. $480 overnighted, i think.

as for the treatment, sounds like bs.

Are you trying to say the 6 puck has a higher pedal pressure than the same clutch with the street disc?

I just had the full face HDSS unit installed and it feels awesome. This clutch fills in the gap that the stock clutch left as far as performance goes. I am still in the 500 mile break-in period, so I don't know about the longevity of the unit.

The clutch peddle pressure doubled. I have not yet adjusted, but I am sure this will not be a problem.

Nothing bad to report!
