Well got my syncro replaced...

Well went to dealer with all my mods as i posted before..(SS line, aftermarket diff/tranny fluids, transmission leak(car's tranny oil was EMPTY), ACT HDSS Clutch, No clutch play, short shifter, ES shifter bushings) and the dealer decided to fix it! I complained about 4th gear grind at higher RPMs and somethings 2nd gear downshifts even rev-matching it...well call in a few days later and i find out they replaced 2-3-4-5-R which was pretty niec of them to do so. I also ordered a new transmission case in the process ($600). Yea sucks, dont even ask why. And car comes outta the dealer on Monday cuz its running behind schedule. It was supposed to be outta there on Friday so the dealership decided to pay my rental fees for Friday-Monday. Pretty cooperative. Just thought i'd share my experience and am just waiting to see how fresh new syncros and oil are gonna feel

Congrats!

I'm a bit hesitant to bring my car in to the dealer because I think I might need a transfer case. I don't have that many mods like yours. Just exhaust, BOV, and Harness Bar. Not sure if that will void the warranty. But, if they want to they can just pick on anything and use that as a reason to not fix or warrant the car.

Then why not take your mods off? That's why I do...

yea it was Fresno Mitsubishi of Central California. I had a bad exp the first time but gave them a 2nd chance and it worked out great (so far). I told them everything that was on my car as soon as i walked in and everything went fine. They didnt question any of my mods. They started working on my car as if it was stock when they know its not, im not even running any cats.

That's just ridiculous. The teenager with a modded Evo gets warranty work done despite significant drivetrain mods, yet legitimate Evo owners without such mods (and bills to pay) get shafted daily. Oh well...

ok first off, i dont see what you're trying to say...but i think you're either having a bad day or ignorant. Just because im young and have a modded Evo makes you think I dont care or work hard for my car? I baby my Evo regardless of what you think. I change all my diff oils and engine oil on time and service my car at the smallest sign of a problem. Maybe they serviced me because i approached them in a manner that made them see that my age didnt put fault on my syncro issues...and once AGAIN...i am NOt the owner of the Skyline which is why i removed it cuz i was being questioned about it daily and am not gonna state once again who is the owner of it.

hah u want a work order? ok..are u tryna call BS? its Fresno Mitsubishi of central California. The service guy is Adam Bonilla. Do you also want his phone number? do u want me to also videotape the service worker who authorized my service stating that its all true? whats so hard to believe? half of the mods are not gonna void warranty

ES bushings-not even noticable or does anything
Short shifter-i dont see this voiding warranty
ACT HDSS Clutch-dealerships clearly stated a properly installed clutch does not affect warranty
SS clutch line-dealer didnt even care
Differential oils-GL certified
Tranny being empty-I stopped driving the car once i noticed the leak which i told the dealer.

What if the clutch wasn't installed properly? They don't know, because they didn't do it; therefore, it can be blamed easily. Dealers deny coverage for far less than what you have...

i am fully aware of this which is why i decided to make this thread about what happened with me. This dealership is considered "mod friendly" and another fellow EvoM member has his Evo at the same dealership at this moment, i saw it on Friday and he's getting his 5th gear syncro replaced for the 2nd time within a 2month period at the same dealer and he has the same ACT clutch as me. I get what you're trying to say, but thats also the thing, they cant prove that it wasnt properly installed and affected my syncros. everythign with my clutch is in tip-top shape

Hey, im the guy with the Evo there right now. I think its BS that you guys jump on him like this, its not like he saying he pulled a Murcielago on the freeway. I also pretty much had my whole tranny rebuilt in Feb by them and my 5th gear grind is back, also the car is hard to get into reverse. About the clutch, Id like to see them use "it wasnt installed properly" since they installed it. Id be like if you couldnt install a clutch properly who's to say the rest of the work was done right. I have a work order for everything that was done so if anyone wants it faxed to them I can do that Fresno Mitsu has been pretty good so far, we'll see what happens now, that supposedly I have the upgraded parts and it still went bad, and reverse has been bad pretty much since day 1 (hard to get in)

It's nice to hear about dealers doing things the way they should. Hey Evil EVO if don't mind me asking how bad was you 5th gear grind before you ever had it "fixed"? Reason I ask is because I have heard of others getting it fixed and it comes right back. Mine does it only when it is tached up above 5k going into 5th. By the sounds of it maybe I should just leave mine alone lol.

I can believe what ralliart is saying....though some waranty claims are ruined by dumbasses. We had one kid here who tried to claim the "peeling brembo brake"....the service manager asked him if he bled his brakes and didnt wipe them....of course he said yes. Now the only service they are gonna give us is to take the caliper to a local paint shop to get coated.....mind you it will erase the Brembo logo. Some people....allways dropping the ball....geez
