springs and retainers

are these worth it? im thinking about getting the works 269's and s and r but at the same time to do the work would cost a lot... i think id rather get the hks 264's plus the cams... but if the springs and retainers do nething id rather get the works cams

If you take into account how much a repair would cost if you floated a valve, the price of the springs/retainers and additional install labor will be worth it. Well, that's what I've been telling myself. I plan to get the whole package. Springs, retainers, and 269 cams. I'm gonna track my car this summer and will be spending a lot of time in the upper rpms. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

springs / retainers allow you to raise the rpm limit. If your cams / tune support power above the current rev limit it's a good mod, otherwise it won't buy you anything.

Yeah, according to the research done by revolver, buschur, higher lift cams come in contact with the valve seals.

I don't see a point in installing any part on your car if you have doubts about it. It would make me afraid to drive the car hard for long periods at a time since I'll be worrying about it.

+1 i have gotten a lot or opinions, but if its that questionable why not do it? i would rather fork out the money just in case than be kicking myself later
