I wouldn't mind having either Shep Racing or TRE work on my transmission if I ever have to cross that road. And I think a lot of us (if I may be so bold) are embarrased at the flaming of two great vendors that's been going on in this thread. My .02

I cannot believe this

I registered on this board a while ago and I have never made a post. I own a 1G DSM so there is very little to ask or post for me here, but after reading one more completely retarded thread I had to say something.

What is wrong with you people ??? Do you even bother to read each other's posts before replying ... or do you simply see a key word you are familiar with and you decide to just post something (regargless if it is relevant to the discussion or not).

I have upmost respect for people like John Shepherd, Ron Shearer, the Turbotrix & AMS crew, etc. etc. but some of the members here are flat out ignorant to say the least.

TrinaBabe specifically said in the post that numerous calls have been made to TRE, tons of e-mail has been sent and there is no reply in excess of 2 weeks. All TrinaBabe wanted to know is ... has anyone heard from Jon@TRE. Nothing bad was ever said. If anyone here (besides the elite DSM crew) bothered to read the post, the thread would not be nearly as retared and 1/3 the lenght. The first reply was try sending him and e-mail ... he is busy, and so was the second reply ... WTF??? Trinababe specifically said that she called and sent and e-mail already. Sure enough a bunch more people reply that Jon is busy and she should send him an e-mail. How retarded can you people be ???

To top it all off. Jon has time to post a reply here and advertise his new products and say that they got new equipment to reduce turnaround time but he does not have time to write TrinaBabe a short e-mail and say something like ... "Hey, sorry I have been busy. Your first gear is cracked, you will need a new one, it will be xxx dollars and I will have your tranny back in a week". This is absolutely ridiculous.

Back in the old days when TRE used to sell turbos, I have delt with Jon and I am well aware that the quality of his work is good, that he is very knowledgeable, and he can talk more than anyone I know ... but you know what ... his turnaround time is not good & the customer service he has shown to TrinaBabe flat out blows and it is unacceptable ... period. I don't care what you guys have to say.

This is for this whole board/forum ...

If you guys want to make this board useful, you should go and read the NABR forums or DSMLINK. Those are bull****-free boards. Read the rules on there and try to apply them to what is going on here. It will make it a better place. It is OK not to know about things, but learn to ask the right questions, learn to read what other people say, learn to research the matter at hand and minimize the worthless posts. I am sure that there are plenty of DSM-ers that read these forums when they are bored and need a good laugh ... you know jewels like a big 16B turbo, HKS clownpipe, ceramic magnets, ported 3G turbo oil-drain tube, electronic fishtank controller that will give you 500HP on 87 octane with Alky Injection and 900HP to the rear wheels with the cool stuff (C16).

Grow up and quit making this board worthless.

That's it. Ban me from the board for ripping you a new one ... I don't really care. If you have any grey matter left in your heads, you will actually think about what was just posted.

That's true, we do chat and even though we are both in the business to build transmissions, you won't find us getting involved in one of those classic forum "wars".

Secretary, we have one but she works part time and once she's up to speed she'll be on the talking your calls. I'll be back on the phones all next week and I always answer my emails.

Quantum view notification, we do send them.

More realistic completion date, I hear you there and there are 8 transmissions left to complete so expect to see yours really soon.

I saw the pictures of the new building. Looks nice! Im glad that the two transmission guys for us aren't as childish as most of the people on this forum. Sorry for whom ever that may hurt but it is the truth. Hopefully people may learn to actually read before they write, only reply when they have answers, and not speak thier opinions without previous knowledge or experience in the matter. I tried to get a simple answer and instead recieved 90% crap. Someday people may learn....

I just want to add one thing and that is to not exclude yourself from any fault. At no point did you seem concerned with TRE's well-being (or even that of your transmission) in your initial post or even the second one where you said -

"Now my tranny has been sitting there for 2 weeks and I can't get ahold of him through E-mail or phone calls. Obviously I should have just done it the right way and went with Shepherd from the beginning. I see why you said Shepherd was the way to go... this is what I get for trying to save a few bucks and pushing things too early."

I agree that a lot of the posting on this board is completely useless (what percentage of members even drive EVOs?) but don't fuel the flames and try to claim innocence. The flame war broke out after negative undertones were made and posters felt like they needed to defend (or bash) one side of the camp.

Is what I meant by saying I should have done it the right way from the get-go is instead of pulling the tranny out, sending it to one guy, putting it back in, over and over I should have went with the first reccomendation (Send it to Shepherd).

If I wasn't concerned with the wellbeing of my transmission why did I make this post?

And lastly, fault from what exactly? Making a stupid or non-sense post? Attacking someone without legit reason or merit? I dont understand what I am at fault with. I had a problem getting a hold of a company. It is a fact. I sent E-mails and made phone calls with no return, another fact. I was in no way simply trying to give a company a bad name. I guess by me attempting to find out information pertaining to a company that I sent my transmission to is obviously a stupid question and should never have been posted right? And don't fuel the flames... what flames could I possibly fuel? I am not making unmeritted claims... I am stating facts. Of course they would have negative undertones... would you be happy if you sent your transmission to a shop and could not get ahold of them for 2 weeks straight? Thanks for your input, still attempting to determine why you posted it, I got my answer that I asked originally already.

I am friends with Jon and John and I will say that you would be making a mistake by choosing anyone else other than the two to build your transmission. They are both great guys, good businessmen, and have great passion and pride in the jobs that they do for the Evo and DSM communities.

This post turned into a smack-talking contest very quickly which is just ridiculous.

You can always tell when someone offers a poor product, its easier to search for their name next to the word "problems, screwed, jipped, robbed, ripped off"

Both of these companies are a class act with great reps and services, and both are gentlemen who conduct themselves in a professional manner.

Many of the people on this board can take a lesson from both John and John and until they can learn from that, should sit back and drink a nice tall glass of Shut the F*ck Up.

as a former DSM owner and now an EVO owner, this thread has been an amusing read.

If there are any two tranny specialist that I would trust to work on my EVO, one is TRE, the other is sheperd (in no particular order)

you idiots who started this flame war should really offer apologies to both these vendors

I would be happy to have either work on my car. I just wasn't comfortable with the baseless innuendo and attempt to descredit Shephard. Sorry to get side tracked, but we shouldn't let stuff like this happen.

I got my transmission back from Shep, I mean India, I mean China, I mean Taiwan, I mean some other shop in Ohio that John farms his work out to because he is working on his 8 second race car and racing it far too often.

Or maybe he really did do the work since I happened to call him while he was boxing it up to send to me.

I got it back yesterday. I put it in the car after I got home from work. I'm treating it very gingerly for a while as it breaks in, but it shifts very well and feels very solid. Thanks for the great work and service, John. I'm impressed as always!
