mine drops at around 7100rpm.
no more power after 7100rpm eventhough my redline is 7800rpm. why????????????????????????????????

Redline does not have anything to do with power output. It's just a safety mechanism to keep the engine from over-revving.

It's natural for the power to start declining after 7k rpm, because you run out of breath (cams or turbo dependent). If you have a bigger turbo and cams, then it would probably mean you are not tuned well at such a high rpm (detonate or rich = knock = pulled timing = less hp).

I don't know, on my stock 05 MR, the power peaked at 6300, then starting going down. It dropped 20whp by 7k, then started to drop sharply. We run extremely rich from the factory above 5200rpm, and it gets worse as the RPMs go higher, so we usually lose a lot of power up there.

Warrtalon...What is our (MR) redline?... and can we change that without voiding warranty (i.e. cams, given stealth of cams)?

if i remember correctly, all 03-05 EVO's have a fuel cut at 7404RPM. with cams, headbolts, valve springs, retainers, & a good flash or standalone, the motor will rev to 9K safely. stock turbo will still run out of steam though. with my base dynoflash, i am able to shift to 8K but i choose not to go over 7800 since that stretches the stock headbolts. even on stock cams & 101 unleaded, the motor just keeps pulling & strong too with 16 degrees timing in gears 3 & 4. a new dyno graph is coming soon.

7606 RPM

No, you can't change that without voiding warranty. Cams will also get you voided pretty quick most likely. And to clarify, things like this don't necessarily "void" your warranty, but they probably will get it "restricted," which is basically what you mean. The result is that they won't cover a lot of stuf that could/would go wrong with the powertrain (engine/tranny). They would still cover stuff like a bad o2 sensor or faulty power steering pump (just examples).

The engine can go higher than 8k rpm on its own...the thing that stops it is an electronic rev limiter. To raise this limit, you can get a flash or standalone ecu replacement. To effectively make power above 8k, you then would need a bigger turbo, cams, and the supporting mods.

I have the rev limiter set at 8k from flash but is there really a need to go above 7500?

basically inorder to get more power it is like they said all about breath. one way to increase that is to get exhaust mods to free up the flow. I noticed especially with my mods once I got cams my power peaked at 7k for the most part and fell off very slowly about 8whp between 7-8k. In order for me to get more power up top I would need a bigger turbo, but with a bigger turbo you loose your low end power in sacrifice for top end. I'm currently going to get my exhaust manafold and 02 housing jet coated and ported, and maybe some intercoolerpiping will help also with that. My rev limiter is currently at 8k.

No, not unless you have the mods to make use of that 7500-8k range. At my stage, I start dropping off much earlier, so it's better to shift at 7200-7300. Even if I could go to 8k, the only time it would help me would be at the top of 4th, where I'm about to run into problems with needing to shift to 5th. I wouldn't necessarily make good power in 4th past 7600rpm, but it would potentially be better than shifting to 5th.
