First you have to take the whole tranny out, then you need a press to pull out all the gears and input shafts and piece will just far apart from there on out. And even if you manage to get ALL that out, all the gears apart, insert the synchros, before you can even put it back together, you need a micrometer to properly measure the depth to properly shim it, cuz if you don't, oh boy.
You will need to remove the transmission. Take the transmission case apart. Remove both the input shaft and output shaft along with the final drive gear assembly (Which houses the center diff). Once all apart you will need a press to remove each and every part pressed on both the input shaft and output shaft. Keep them all in a line so you dont have to read and read and read to ensure you put them back in the right order. Swap out the old synchos and syncho assemblies. Start pressing them back together. You will need a few different measuring devices to ensure you gap each gear and such correctly from each other. Once fully assembled again you will need to use a few spacers to ensure the correct preload on the assembly which requires you to use solder in place of a spacer, assemble the whole thing. remove the whole thing again, measure the solder and use the correct spacer to get the desired space. I have never done it but I have seen/helped people do this. It is not rocket science but it is very detailed, precise and time consuming. There are instructions that are very detailed and step by step in the factory service manual. Unless you are very brave and very meticulous and have a lot of time to burn.. you are much better off paying someone else to do it. John Shepherd and Jon Ripple are two of the best people for transmission work. Send it to one of them.
If you would like to learn HOW to do this, buy a beater civic or something. Buy a tranny from a junkyard and rebuild that a few times. The parts are cheap for a rebuild but very precise to do it.

I did my first one when I was 17, my second when I was 20. I used a lath on the thrust bearings to adjust thickness for correct end play. The lash is automatic since the case bores align the shafts. As mentioned, you have to be able to press fit to tolerance and that takes skill and knowledge. The dealer had to send my 3g Eclipse trans out to a machine shop to have the second rebuild done.. after they had botched the first one. I watched my Evo's fifth gear syncro being replaced and NO WAY I would attempt it.
