In the shop again! QUESTION
Well, I dropped the car off tonight (Monday) and will HOPFULLY get it back Thursday or Friday night. It's there to have the ACT street clutch kit, BG Syncro Shift fluid, and SS Clutch cable installed. He also said there have been many problems with the aftermarket clutches lately and them being off-balanced. So along with the re-surfacing of the flywheel, it's also being sent out fully put together (clutch assembly and flywheel) to be machine balanced before being re-installed back on the car. It's only been gone for a couple hours and I'm already ready to get it back.
QUESTION...how many miles should I keep the revs low to break-in the new clutch?

Do ACT clutches require a break in period?
For organic street discs "00 and SS" we recommend breaking in the clutch for 200-300 miles with mild engagement such as stop and go city driving prior to racing or spirited driving. ACT race discs usually only require a few hard slips to lap in the surfaces prior to normal driving or racing. Do not overheat the clutch during the break in period.

act-man says 250 is good.. once the clutch is engaged you can do what you want.. i have heard people say you have to vary your speed, hahaha, its a clutch not engine internals.. drive it normal for 250 mi, then have fun.. its worked for me..

I got an update this afternoon. They started it this morning and had it completly out of the car before lunch and ready to send it out for re-surfacing of the flywheel, mounting of the new clutch, and balancing. The balanced assembly will be back to them tomarrow afternoon to be put back onto the car and I will hopefully get it back Thursday.

Not back yet, they just got the flywheel/clutch assembly back this morning from being balanced. He said it was just going to all go back on today and shouldn't have any problem getting it back to me tomarrow (Friday).
In the mean time, a buddy at work gave me his supercharged Mustang GT to drive around this week. Wow, what a different ride in the two cars. Over 400RWHP and torque on the Mustang, my Evo feels quicker but the torque on the boosted V8 is just crazy.

Done And Done
Whew, got it back Friday night!!!!! The clutch pedal feels like stock, but definately has more grab to it. It was a 45 miles drive home, and the revs never got over 3500 and won't for at least another 450 miles. The shop I took it too in Mesquite, TX said it wasn't hard at all...just very time consuming (~10 hours since this was their first Evo).
Shifting is very smooth, the BG Syncro Shift might have something to do with that. All in all I am very happy with the outcome of their work and can't wait to get it broke-in so I can really test it out. If anybody in the DFW area would like their clutch installed, PM me and I'll get you the details of who to take it too. It'll take roughly 2 days now that they know exactly what they're doing.
