X Clutch

I tried doing a seach on the forums but couldn't find anything. I have a question for you folks.

I have the choice of going either with an ACT 2600-2900 clutch, or a X Clutch from RRE. Which clutch would you guys prefer?

I've heard great things about both clutches, but I've also heard bad things as well. My main concern is the warranty of my car. If the tranny ever goes on me and I take the car down to mitsu for the warranty, one look at the ACT clutch will most likely void the warranty, where as the X clutch looks stock. Any feed back would be great.

Oh and I believe this is my first post. Also wanted to say hi to you guys. I drive a white 03 EVO VIII. Just droped it off to RnR today for some goodies.

Thanks,

-Saeid

I was also between the ACT and the X-clutch.

I ended up getting the X-clutch with a new stock flywheel. I got it mainly for the "stock look" should (God forbid) my tranny or something fail.

It took about 1500 miles or so to break the clutch in and get used to the way it grips. The clutch grips like crazy and the pedal is substantially heavier. My EVO is a daily driver, and I drive 60+ miles a day for work. I'm happy with the clutch so far, 9,000 miles and counting.

it's about $150 to $200 more than the act clutch, depends on where you get em.

yeh, it does look stock, but I always wondered if the mechanic could tell the difference on the disc from stock to the "no name" clutch.

yeh, really can't mistake act with anything else. It's more yellow than anything out there.

my tech said that an aftermarket clutch wouldn't be a problem because the cutch is not covered under warranty. They even offered to put it on.
what is the best site to find both of these pieces from x
