400whp Possible With 21G on Pump, No Alky?

I tuned the 21g car here and he's already gone 12.3 at 114mph on pump with the stock 16g. Definately possible to go 11's in his car.
Yea, when i tuned the 21g, i didn't think it was too much of an upgrade especially because of the high price. Plus the fact that you gotta get it from turbochargers.com. That should already sound alarms in my book.

David is out of town until early next week so I thought I would chime in to help out a little bit. On the stock turbo here with a stage 4, HKS 280 Cams, 94 octane pump gas and the AEM EMS with no alcohol we put down 393whp. The car ran a 11.79 @ 116mph on this setup.
We have not got a chance to get any dyno #'s out of the turbo as we are waiting to get our new AWD dyno, but we are going to the track soon and get some 1/4 mile #'s out of this for you guys so you can see the potential of this turbo. I do see it making more than the "claimed" 7hp.
WidebandPhillip,
You seem to be hating on this turbo for some reason. Whats the deal? You mention a high price, and turbochargers.com sounding an alarm. We have never had a problem with turbochargers.com with anything. They have always stood behind their products. As far as a high price goes....I think that this turbo is at a very reasonable price for something that will be a good bolt-on upgrade, and has taken alot of time and money in R&D to develop. You mention that " from personal experience that to make 400whp w/ this turbo and a alky kit is a definite NO". I would like this to be explained as the begining part of this post I had mentioned what we had made on the stock turbo which is just 7hp shy of the 400whp mark that we have already made with the stock turbo, and no alcohol. Also it was said "could the 21G rocket the EVO into the 11's??? The answer YES i do not see that being a problem at all as the stock 16G already has....numerous times on many different cars.
As for the 21G hitting the 500hp mark on the EVO that is unclear at this time, but it is not out of the question for a 20G to hit that mark. Our DSM 20G's are capable of 500hp, and are the only true 20G proven to ever run 10's.

when buschur gets dyno installed he should take the evo rs the old set up and do some pulls, then put on the 21G and do some pulls. When buschur shows the power difference thats when i and many others will buy it.I hope for 20whp at least. Can't wait to see what happens.
I'm sure if you search for turbochargers.com on dsm boards, you'll see why they suck. I'm sure i've put my experience with them up here somewhere. I can get the dynosheets with the "claimed 7whp". Then again, dyno numbers are just numbers.
Here is my input.
My RS on pump gas, straight pump gas, ran 11.7 at 116.3 mph, this was the same way it sat on the dyno where it made a best of 393 whp.
The 21g I bolted on the first time was the unit with the horrible compressor surge. The car ran 118.40 mph with me driving it on pump gas with less boost than the stock turbo had. That is a 2.1 mph increase and less boost.
I would say on a properly set up combination the 21g will make over 400 whp on pump in an EVO.
I plan to run the car again this Wednesday with the new clipped 21g and see what it will do.
One major difference in the stock turbo compared to the 21g. The stock turbo has HUGE boost spikes in my car 25-28 psi and then falls off to 17 psi by redline. This type of boost level on pump gas is only able to be done safely with some very extensive tuning knowledge and a stand alone. With the 21g I am able to run the car without these huge boost spikes, a maximum of 21 psi was done on the 118.4 mph runs and boost maintained around 20 psi throught the traps.
BTW, the DSM 20G will NOT make 500 hp, not to the wheels anyway. Jarrod looked at our own website and saw that's what it said. Not sure which one of the guys that built our site over the years typed that but it would have to refer to flywheel HP to be true. A well tuned DSM 20g on race gas and 27 psi of boost will make up to 450 whp. I think the 21g would do that too.

I don't understand why Buschur touts their 2WD dyno figures as they were 4WD dyno figures. 393 on stock turbo with straight pump gas is GREAT if it were on a 4WD DYNO.
Everyone here is talking WHP at all 4 wheels, not just the front two.
