Possible Boost Leak?

I think I'm having a leak issue with my car. It's stock except for an mbc and dynoflash. When I get on it in first or second gear, I get the whoosh sound from the BOV at around 5500 rpm, lower than it should be. Boost spikes up to around 17psi like normal (mbc set to 19) at the normal time. Power seems to start dying off around 5500 rpm as well. When I shift into 3rd and higher, it doesn't seem to bleed off at 5500, but I haven't taken it out on the highway to get up to any higher speeds to be sure. Just to clarify, this wasn't happening until a few weeks ago. All the mods were done a year ago. I've checked the piping and they all seem to be nice and tight. Since this is my first turbo car, I wanted to get some feedback before I get a new BOV. Any educated guesses and inputs are appreciated.

did you cap the stock solenoid and the nipple connecting it from the intake?

It's been a while since I put in the mbc but I believe so. I'll have to double check and let you know.

Sounds like a leak to me.

I'm not sure what will happen if you hook it up without capping the nipple but my car was running good without the stock solenoid hook up.

All the lines look good and the solenoid was capped. I drove it again and the whoosh sound is in 3rd gear as well (around 5500 also). I haven't been able to drive anywhere to try it in 4th or 5th gears yet. I'm leaning more toward the BOV, but would greatly appreciate any more assistance.

check the turbo outlet and the gasket...the gasket is known to break...

did with mine and it fixed my leak...only for it to break again a few months later

Try the turbo outlet gasket first and you really need to chunk that old plastic bov and replace it with a stock replacement forged MR version bov.........
