Replace your plugs first, seems like the problem. With a slipping clutch, rpm will shoot up and not grab properly. Replace your plugs first.

That is what I was thinking, do you think I should stick with the stock plugs? I think I will do wires as well.

I don't see how in #$@# a slipping clutch can make your RPMs go DOWN when it slips, or how you could pull at higher RPMs in fourth if it was the clutch.

Ignore those who type without thinking, and look at the intake and ignition systems first. I agree with starting with the plugs.

I personally would stick with stock pluggs. We're not running enough power to need colder plugs. I would personally stick with stock plugg wires too unless you see burnt areas around or on the plugg wires. I can't remember the thread but I remember some people having trouble with Magnacore wires and burnt their coils.

Yeah well after more driving yesterday it is the clutch. It is doing it in all gears and now the rpms are rising as much as 800 or so. Oh well, at least I was able to diagnose my problem.

I noticed my car doing this just starting tonight. Have less than 5k miles on it but I was kinda thinkin it was the clutch and it makes sense because as soon as boost starts to kick in the engine hesitates and it kinda felt like the engine was missing a beat. I would replace the spark plugs but its under warranty still so I would rather the dealer look at it. Just sucks to not hav e a dealer within 2 hours of my house. Has anyone else had this and had a different problem come up later?? I just want to be planned to speak with the dealer. Thanks!!!

my car use to do that too...was jus drivin normally on the freeway and i need to pass this guy up...so i accelerated and the car jus started to shake outta nowhere...it happened at 80 mph at 4k...i thought my car was hit either a boost cut or fuel cut and needed a tune due to the overwhelming amount of air bein rushed in...it happend after i added my blitz intake (only mod btw)...but i reset the ecu (unpluggin the neg terminal) for awhile and it runs fine...only prob is that revs are lower...60mph at 2500 - 3000....70mph at 3000...sometimes 80mph still at ~3000 or 3500...what do u think could've caused that????

well this isnt so much shaking as it is just that the vehicle kinda gets jolted b/c the tach goes up a little then drops a little so im guessing its the clutch as well. I guess 5k miles is a bit soon to replace a clutch but I will see what the MITSU dealer tells me
