Not to take this thread off course, but can anyone comment on the pump gas (93/94) potential of the 3076 vs the 3071? And maybe on 100 octane if anyone knows....

I only ask becasue these are realisticly the fuels I would use. Im not gonna do alchy, and im not gonna buy barrels of race gas for my evo that is strictly a street car.

Thanks for all the info fellas, as I am learning a lot from you. I am seriously thinking about either the AMS kit or Buschur's BR500 with an alky kit eventually.
How many Hp can the stock block take? and will I need to upgrade any suspension work to handle the stressload? My goal is to have anywhere from 450-500whp, and whoop some Cobras, Vettes, etc......

The stock block is capable of handling about 600+ HP, but anything above that would be pushing it. If ur looking to make a max of 500 whp, the stock block should be fine, unless u constantly redline while driving. Definitely get a good tune and ur car's block should be fine.

Are you asking about the block literally, or the short block (incl. pistons, rods, etc.)?

Mod list is on my car-domain page: http://www.cardomain.com/id/justdsm4

I'll get a sheet up but let me warn you, I didn't tune anything below 5000RPM. The curve is pretty weak before that which is why I held of on posting it. I didn't tune those RPM/load sites and didn't want everyone thinking that's what you should expect from the AMS 3076.

I'll get ahold of you privately about the sheet soon.

I would like to know the answer to this question as well, and what about the ATP kits? What are the good and bad points about their kits? Thanks for responding!

I think that you should check with Forced Performance before you go making any rash decisions...

Yeah i'd go with this one...roadracing kind i'd say and very very streetable. i'd venture to say you can get 450whp out of this with ALL supporting mods and stock-spool.
