NGK sparkplugs: How often to change?

What do new NGK plugs look like? I mean, are they really pointy or is the tip flat like on an Autolite?

Is 28,000 miles too many on the original plugs???

IMO stick with the stock ones until you do a turbo upgrade or cams. then at that point I would go one step colder coppers and just change those every 10-20k.

The NGK plugs that are the same as OEM are part# BPR7EIX which are part of the Iridium IX series. Yes the center electrode is super pointy on the Iridiums and you CANNOT touch this electrode while gapping the plugs since it is fragile and will break.

28,000 miles here and still on the stock plugs with no problems.
