How much NOS can my EVO take?
A 50 shot on a turbo car ends up being more like a 100 shot. Most people add nitrous in addition to bolt on mods. Nitrous requires free flowing exhaust anyway.
There aren't any mods that I know that will give you nitrous-bang-for-the-buck.
I ran nitrous on my Probe Gt and GSX for 6 years.

Nitrous ends up being 600-700 PLUS refilling the bottle for $30-40 a lot... that adds up. On a probe GT, yes think thats your best bet going the N20 route however, for an EVO.... the number of bolt-ons you can get for such a good price and put down amazing power is awesome and to use n20 is just a waste.
I'm saying you will probably already have the TBE before using nitrous. So it will be a 100HP jump from where those bolt ons got you. Besides you only use alot of nitrous when you first get it. After the first few bottles you dont use it up at every stoplight. You can get 15-20 full 1/4 miles passes out of a 10LB bottle .....on the street where races are usually as short as a second gear pull......that could mean 60 races.

I just installed a NX kit last sunday on my car. The directions say 2 hours. NOT. 6 hours if you do it right. Ill try to get some pictures. Might save someone a but load of hours figuring out mounting locations. I was running 27 PSI from the stock turbo. VP100 exclusively as this is a weekend car. When it got into the 100 ambient range, i thought the overworking of my turbo was pushing to much heat. So by turning the boost down to 20 and adding the N2O, (which, by the way, has a tremendous cooling effect upon evaporation in the intake) and it being 100 outside, the car pulled REAL hard. Now listen to me. N2O is as safe or as dangerous as the user. Nitrous doesnt blow up cars, PEOPLE blow up cars. If you run 91 then i would suggest a seperate small fuel fuel tank and fuel pump that is switch controlled and plumbs directly to the fuel solenoid. Put vp110 low lead. in it. Then get a wideband to insure the correct AFR's. Once confirmed, start with a 50 shot jets and datalog KNOCK and AFR's. If good, try the 75 jets. Datalog. Once you know you have a safe AFR/no knock condition, running this stuff is virtually the same as a bigger turbo. Both add more air and fuel. (wet system only please) Only one does it WAY cheaper. REMEMBER, good fuel is really cheap insurance........pics soon Ray

I would only use nitrous to cool the Intercooler. I don't feel it necessary on a boosted car, unless you have a really huge turbo and need to help it spool.
On a serious note, don't waste your time with "intercooler spray" or any of that ****. Just buy a 50 shot kit and don't use it very often.

oh man I cant stop laughing

and its not NOS...NOS is the brand name of the company that makes it
Nitrous it is

just get alky/meth injection

I plan on all the usual bolt-ons and then adding a nitrous setup to get me the power I want without sacrificing the daily drivability the stock turbo offers.

I had a nitrous backfire on my probe. It was my fault for attempting to spray before my bottle pressure reached 950 psi. The low pressure created a poor spay pattern. Bad things happen when you make mistakes.

N2O on a turbo car can be safe, if it is done right. However, there are so many other ways to get the power desired for a way cheaper price tag. I know a $400 "bolt on" kit looks really appealing, but then you have to fill the bottle, and then fill it again, and again, and again. It's just so much cheaper to do bolt ons that will net you the same level of power, especially if you are starting from stock.
evosorio - I lived in Puerto Rico for almost 5 years. Lots of good times. I had an Eclipse GSX down there that I used to run at the track all the time. I never used N2O on it. I never came across a car on the street that could touch it, either. It was a lot of fun building that car and driving the **** out of it, and I could do it all night long, without having to worry about the bottle running out.

It's cool to know that people form the US know how cool drag racing is in PR. I was just curious about nos since a lot of people who dont know their stuff about cars say nitrous will blow up your engine wich i dont think it's the case. There a lot of nitrous urban legends out there and i think it's time that experts in the subject start clearing things up, not to sell the product but to really understand how it works

Nah, it's a tissue, or maybe a photocopy. There are many words that you can use in place of "NAWZ". The bottle, spray, juice, N2O, nitrous oxide, laughing gas....
And why are we even having this discussion? It's easier to say NOS rather than N2O? OK. Fine. But we're typing here. They take as many keystrokes to punch in on the keyboard, and you don't have to hold down the shift key for all of N2O.
I just think that people come off as ricers when they refer to the stuff as NAWZ. Let's take a vote. How many people here have had some punk kid come up to you while you were near your Evo and say something like "Nice car. Do you have NAWZ in it?" I bet over half of you had. You probably thought to yourself that the kid had watched a little too much 2 Fast 2 Furious. Now, if he would have said something like "I heard these cars have quite a bit of turbo lag for a stock car. Do you spray to help overcome it?" Then you probably would look at things a bit differently. See where I am going with this. Anyway, enough with this lesson in ricerology.
evosorio - There was a DSM shop up in the San Juan area that I used to go to. I can't remember the name of it. We used to go to the track at Carolina, and sometimes to Salinas.
