3071 vs TME 10.5 hotside

I am trying to get 400WHP on the pump gas, and was debating between 3071 and TME with10.5 hotside.
It would be helpfull if anyone can contrbute as to whcih one will be easier to get to the 400WHP mark and which one would support 8500 RPM better without dying off.????

Thanks

Your not going to get 400whp with the TME without alky injection. But with the right tune it might be possable to get it with the 3071

3071 for sure if you want to do it on Pump gas. It takes a lot of time and fine tuning to get 400whp out of a stock turbo on any gas.

3071. The TME won't make 400whp on pump or hold constant boost until 8500rpm.

3071 will hold 420WHP on pump gas.

3071 might have a shot. Much more easily achieved with the 3076.

71 would be the better choice.be even 400whp is hard to get on pump with it,unless you ad some alky

Just get the 3076, it is even cheaper and MAYBE you can still get the deal by AMS.

Discliamer: I havn't experienced both personally.

The TME may "feel" more like 400hp as it is spools quick and "hits hard" around 3-4k rpm. The dyno curves I have seen have a rectangular plateu kind of shape.

In contrast the 3071 dyno curves I have seen, all have had more of a ramp shape passing the stocker/ TME's max hp around 4-5k and continuing upward.

If you roller bearing the TME unit you will easily see 400bhp at the flywheel and get 400ftlb but i guess you are talking at the wheels??? No way you will get 400atw out of the TME IMO
As said above though the way in which the power comes and torque comes in will easily surpass the 3071. 400/400 power torque is the ultimate with a RB TME turbo if you ask me, well it is on twisty road and tracks of the UK where you want immediate response rather than outright power. Anyway I guess you guys may differ on that though with your roads.

Sadly, no one here (vendors) seems to be willing/ able to do it.... or at least at a cost that we can afford (us customers).

If a BB TME was availible and comparable in price I think the chioce would be obvious.

Get the Buschur 21G upgrade and you should be able to get 400 wheel on pump with supporting mods of course.

The curve on the dyno graph is relative to the turbo size and tuning though. Some people tune their car to hit the hp/trq fast by tuning it more aggressive(lean) down low.

When pushing the limits of the turbo, you get the spike (highest hp/trq #'s) and then it settles down progressively losing power(unless cams are present). *You mostly see this done when someone is trying to break some kind of hp record with a turbo.*

Others tune it to have that "ramp" like curve you are referring too. This in my opinion is the best because the power is obviously over a longer power band instead of short one. Even though the leaner low rpm tune feels better, the power is more useful the other tune.

In this case the 3071 will be the better choice for your 400whp goal. Alky injection works wonders too.
