No not really its a pretty straight forward install. Just make sure the exhaust donut on the 02 housing is removed before bolting up the BR downpipe or it will leak. Everything is pretty simple to do and can be done with basic hand tools. If you need anything or have any questions feel free to give me a call i'll be glad to help you out. 440-839-1900

BR1 mod install

Drizzo, just finished installing the entire downpipe back BR including the high flow cat and magnaflow muffler. Couple tips: 1) Find all the hardware (bolts and nuts) in a bag floating in the packing material (it is not taped to the pipes so it is easy to overlook) 2) With the car up on jack stands, you do not need to remove any of the front plastic undertray to get at the two 14 mm spring/bolt assemblies that hold the down pipe to the O2 housing. You do need a long ratchet extension. 3) If you have the high flow cat and it is flanged on both ends, then make sure it is 18.5" long just like the stock (the one they sent me was over 24" long and I had to take it to a muffler shop to cut down and reweld ($60 job). If you PM me, I will give you my cell number if you need any help.

BR exhaust

Oh, one last very important thing. The BR downpipe comes within 1/16" of touching the front diff. I think this will transfer too much heat to the diff fluid. I purchased some header wrap (1/16" by 25 feet and some large stainless steel hose clamps). Wrap the down pipe (1/2 overlap) before you install it to save lots of time. I personally would not run this car with out the header wrap on the downpipe.

Our highflow cat has only 1 flange on it. We use to use a full 3" system with no flanges at all, but now it is flanged where the downpipe meets the cat, and the other end is slip fit. We have never used 2 flanges to my knowledge.

thanks for all the pointers so far....the safc, mbc, and boost gauge went pretty smooth...but the exhaust is another story...i saved that for the end because i thought it would be the easiest....i was wrong...the catback section is supposed to be slightly bigger or smaller than the off road pipe and muffler right? just at the ends so the pieces all slide into each other, because mine is not...all three pieces are the same size so 1.) the clamps can't tighten all the way and 2.) with the off-road pipe and catback attached as best as possible, the muffler does not fit. some more help would be much appreciated...thanks

The pieces will appear to be the same size but they are different. Have you tried assembling the system off of the car? It is a snug fit because we did not want any leaks. If you havent tried to do it off of the car yet try to put everything together in the driveway or something to see how it mates up. I hope this helps. If not give me a call here at the shop i'll help you out. Thanks

Okay, I just installed this exhaust today (3", Magnaflow, High Flow Cat). Overall I'm very happy with how it went. I had to call for two things- They now supply thick washers to space the brace bars underneath down a half inch or so for clearance. The directions didn't make reference to these, so I wasn't sure what they were. Secondly, I was under the impression that the downpipe "donut" was something that fit inside the o2 housing from underneath, so I had a hardtime figuring out how to get it off. I didn't realize it was a sleeve around a pipe. Once I talked to Jarrod and got a good flashlight up there, it came off pretty easily.

Now- I installed this entire system with just the front wheels on Rhino ramps (fairly short ramps). I don't recommend this for the claustrophobic among us, but it wasn't awful.

The fit was excellent, phone support was great, and with a little tweaking the exhaust hangs just where it should. I have installed a lot of aftermarket exhausts from good MFG before, and this one fit the best.

One remaining issue, however- One of the "Easy Seals" that they supply for the muffler to cat back connection doesn't work well. I believe it's because you can only get about one inch over the cat back part, and about 2 or 3 inches over the big part. The reason for this is that you the muffler hanger braket is in the way, keeping you from sliding the seal forward any further. Any suggestions? I cranked the thing down as absolutely far as I can go, and I can still rotate the muffler on the cat back.

Thanks BR
Robb
