i have 52k on my car also
I think that it has to do with the age and then some. As far as i know i dont think that the car was detonating. Im not sure it is blown or not. Anytime i raise the boost over 22psi the coolant shoots out of the resvoir overflow. Im assuming its blown.
Search Crazy coolant problem to see my thread about it.
the car runs fine on normal boost.

Ive always heard you DONT NEED them, but they are recommended, and if your gonna be in there to do cams, you might as well just take the time to do the Studs while your in there!!

nhsean69 your right...but i am not running this car over stock boost until i get an upgraded turbo...which is going to be way down the road...I am not going to run any race gas nor any kind of injection...since stock studs will work fine under stock pressure and some ppl have gone over and have been fine...I will just work without them...
I have talked with a few shops and they say unless you take the head OFF, then do not replace the head bolts. Now I realize that a lot of people here have done that "1 at a time" method, but I haven't heard any mechanic advocate that. Something about breaking a seal, and improperly trying to replace it doing the "1 bolt at a time" method has serious long term negative effects.
If you ever have to take the head off though, I would say it would be highly recommended (and its cheap..the bolts that is)

would it be hard to install later down the road after cam install ...i dont know how to install cams..i have someone doing it for me...forgive my dumb question..
I'm not going off on this one again... those who want my opinion can run a search on ARP, head bolts one at a time etc. There are some people's testimonies of popped head gaskets as well...
PS my long term problems with my $90 ARP set is no blown head gasket... then again, any shade tree monkey can screw up this install.

is this the same as eclispe. The shop i deal with said yes its a 100 dollar saftey w/e but it will cost alot to take the head off saying you dont have to take head off for cams. is this correct or not. and what does people pay to get cams installed. One more questiong...Is it ness. to get a timing belt also? They says studs are not but timing belt is.
