It means the Cusco is the same as the Exedy Twin Carbon.

One is a blue cover, one is purple.

Get whichever one you prefer, and get it from whoever provides the best service.

I'm not quite sure if this statement is entirely true. I thought that the Cusco carbon was not a true carbon disc as compared to the Exedy twin carbons. There is also quite a price seperation between the Exedy Carbons, and the Cusco "carbon" that you all are referring to here, as in the Exedy carbon cost almost twice the price of the Cusco everyone is referring to. I believe that the Cusco "carbon", and the Exedy cerametallic are basically the same clutch moreso than the Exedy carbon. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Bump - I have the same question too.

Anyone out there know?? I'm in the market for a clutch, and I'm not 100% certain which one to go with. I have tried the ACT in several cars and do not like them very much. I know a lot of ACT owners love their clutches, and that's cool, but it's just not for me. Looking for a good daily driver clutch that can hold somewhere around the 400-500 WT / WHP range.

I am kind of narrowing it down to the Cusco / Exedy clutches now, but I am a little worried about the NOISE and wonder if both have these issues and/or if it'll go away after break-in. Kind of seeing mixed answers to this question.

The cusco and exedy disks both have springs in the hub center. So thats good. Also the exedy twin ceremetallic is known to wear unevenly but with the cusco they addressed that by sliding in some sort of device that levels out the wear on both tranny and flywheel side. So thats a plus for cusco. I think that is the only difference. That and the materials are "slightly" different. But same hp and tq ratings. I believe the cusco and exedy both weigh the same as well 28-29lbs if I'm not mistaken. Which is about 2-3lbs weight savings on the OE clutch. I hope this info helps.

like everyone else is saying they are the same clutch but with a different color and etchings. i don't know who told the guy the cusco comes in only carbon on carbon but it does come in cera-metallic also. the cusco also uses exedy named plates. if you are into drag racing alot then i would also look into the prices of replacment discs for different brands of twin plates. the exedy/cusco discs are pretty high priced. well goo dluck with your decision.

i have the cusco and havent had any problems, that and the exedy basically the same exedy name is a little bigger as far as clutches go so they are going to cost more, but the cusco twin is a carbon/carbon whereas exedy comes in like four or five different types of clutches both are good clutches but the exedy tends to wear down quicker. both hold pretty good to.But another good clutch is a tiltion clutch but are really expensive.

im sorry to bring this dead thread back .. but im also in the market of getting a new clutch due to the fact that my stock clutch is slipping ..

here is my situtation .. i am currently running 335whp and looking into a stockish turbo upgrade ( TME ) and maybe the alky kit .. i would like to know which clutch in ACT, Exedy twin or the Cusco twin clutch would be best for my case .. i want to run open track and maybe drags as well ... i do like to play with the gears as i run the mountain roads and also, i would like a clutch longer lasting clutch that will save me $$ in the long run .. please advise me on which would be best for my case .. thanks

i try not to launch so much when not needed.
But i do race it at events. Last event was buschur's shootout in OHIO in the summer. I Got about 6 runs there.

Altogether i have over 50+ launches since i've owned it. The disc usually don't even wear until its warmed up. During the winter its pretty bad until i drive alittle. Thats with the motor already warmed up.

Cusco clutches are made by Exedy (Daikin Clutch) & can be bought in either carbon or metal from single plate to triple plate. the Cusco will be more bcuz it has "cusco" on it. since you are looking into spending big cheese on a clutch, don't forget top shop around. Also check out the ATS, HKS GD Max, Tilton, ORC & OS Giken twin plate clutches. a solid rebuildable clutch is the only overkill part 1 should install on an evo...
