clutch exedy vs cusco.

Okay I have to get a new clutch adding bigger turbo and I dont want to deal with clutch issues, so its time to debate. Im looking at the exedy twin disk vs the cusco twin disk. Both seem to be in the same price range.. I know z1 performance right now is giveing a great deal on cusco clutches so I could save a few bucks going that way. However I would rather get the better clutch so im willing to pay a little more for the better of the two.

Which clutch is going to hold up better in the long run, which is more prone to handle power. They both rate at 700hp which is alot more than I will have so im good there.

Well thanks in advance.

The guys at Horse Power House recommended either one. They're big DSM guys. They told me I should get one of the two.

thanks guys, maybe I miss read something but the cusco says it carbon and exedy doesnt. They both say something about a lightweight flywheel with them, is that true?

Exedy makes the Cusco clutch. Exedy twin-plates come in two flavors... cerametallic or carbon/carbon. The Cusco only comes in carbon/carbon. The Cusco is a 'bit cheaper than the Exedy unit. IT's also a really pretty blue color (that you'll never see again after installing) where the Exedy is a girly purple =]. I've never heard complaints about the Cusco yet... and I have it on my car and it does not cause me any problems or smell at all when launched with 420wtq.

The chattery should go away once its properly broken in. Mine was like that for about first 3000 miles. Now the chattering noise is gone.

Thumbs up

the Cusco clutches are made by Exedy. i like ATS, ORC, & OS Giken clutches myself. the exedy will be cheaper than the cusco even though they are the same.

I personally have an ACT and love it but out of your two choices I say go with exedy. As Evodave said earlier contact Matt Gold and he will be able to explain the differences between the two.

Or contact ACTman ( Dirk Starksen) on here and he will make you an ACT believer

over a year and a half with my cusco twin plate.
I'm glad its still holding strong. I didn't think a twin plate clutch would last this long.
