I think a lot of it has to do with tuning. You can have the nastiest kit out and if it aint tuned then you aint got ****. Speaking from experience.

The RnR manifold that I have is a solid as a tank. Unfortunately, the downpipe they sold me is completely messed up and won't fit anything .

If I hadn't of gotten a crack house deal on a new, second hand, RnR manifold, I would have gotten the AMS turbo kit instead. It took along time piecing mine together.

We have never had a manifold crack and we never plan on it happening either. This is why we offer a lifetime warranty because of the faith we have in our products. Our kit has proven it's self over time to be the best of the best.

We have customers making 460whp on 91 octane and no alcohol injection. This is from stock motors with all the bolt-ons. We also have cars making 731whp. There is a wide range of parts we sell and we are always working on coming out with new innovative products.

when you have a chance....please show us this dyno sheet and provide more information on which kit this is.....the specs on it....how much boost.....

i think everyone in the whole community is looking for a pump gas turbo that can make about 450 or so to the wheels

What does the car that made 731whp run at the track?

The big problem is alot of people on the boards don't see some of these parts in person, so they really cannot compare realistically the product. Luckily in this region of the country there are alot of modded evos with alot of different parts. Once you see the differences and hear the stories from others firsthand experience then you start to form the opinion.

Some of the parts out there are just higher quality than others. The Cadillac or the Yugo will take you from point a-b but to say they are both the same is somewhat misleading.

I think this topic has been beaten to death, but I'm in a mood and will throw my 2 pennies in. Building manifolds is a large part of my business and I have a pretty good eye when it comes to noticing a lot of the little details that some others may not. Personally I have seen a good number of different EVO kits both in person and online and have formed some opinions.

With that said. Of the options listed int his thread AMS's kit is hands down the only way to go. I've seen the fit and finish of there kits and it is top notch. The only thing that will rival it is my soon to be completed kit or Turbotrix's kit, which uses my mani. But I'm a LITTLE biased.

This is not true. I am not sure of any other instances, but I have held a cracked one in my hands. It came off a friend of mines car.

It could've been an isolated incident, and likely is, but is still happened nonetheless.

Personally, I have tuned on both an AMS kit and many RnR kits and they are both very nice. My personal car has an RnR GT35R kit on it with a custom manifold. The RnR manifold is top notch. I really could care less what all the "popular kids" on this forum have to say about their experience or knowledge with respect to manifolds. The RnR manifolds look great, make great power and torque, spool great, and will not crack.

Ryan jokes with me all the time. He is always asking me if I've broken his manifold yet. Myself and another friend have promised him we'd break it. So for I've gotten owned by this manifold. I've run the hell out of the 2 step launch control, nothing. No lift shifting with antilag turned on and lighting fuel off in the manifold, didn't even flinch. The thing just laughs at me and keeps going.

From personal experience, I have NEVER seen or heard of an RnR manifold cracking or being outperformed. The AMS kit is great, and I am a big fan, but the RnR kit is my kit of choice. C'mon, its a tubular manifold with a LIFETIME warantee for God's sake! That says alot about the guys that make it.

Wait till you guys see the equal length stock replacement manifold thats comming out soon.

Anyways, I hope this helps get some real information out there.

until i see someone go really fast on a rnr kit the ams has proven itself time & time again in real world conditions not just on the dyno.

Did he get in contact with the shop about this? I'm sure the fabrication department would like to know how, where, and why it cracked. That is why every header we build has its own serial number. We strive to constantly improve our products and sometimes failures are a part of the development process. But we cant improve on them if the person doesnt let us know about it.
