this supposed manifold you are speaking of. Whom purchased the kit? When was is purchased. we have NEVER had a customer come forward with any crack in a manifold. I am in no way claiming we are infalible. But when nobody steps forward how are we supposed to know. It baffles my mind that someone would spend $4000 on a turbo kit and then not call us to get this rectified. I would had him a new manifold within 10 days.

I am not callingy ou a liar by any means but this is all a little hard to believe for me.

The radius on the downpipe for the RNR looks cheated pretty bad.

We actually inspected and repaired it yesterday. The manifold wasn't cracked, but th weld didn't penetrate the metal properly and a very small amount exhaust gases were leaking. A very weird thing that we have never seen before.

Good eye. After looking at it closer it does appear to be leaking udner the weld.

The manifold was never cracked.

Based on what I've heard and what I've seen in terms of dyno sheets and track times, I'd be inclined towards the AMS over the RnR. But then again I chose a Full-Race. :P

Hey Eric,

It was the red car with the red seats that lived near you guys I think. Someone I know bought the car and brought it to Cali. I've speken to you before about it. Anyways, that was the one and only time that I've seen.

Also, lets remember something. I'm not in the business of selling manifolds. When all is working properly, the only thing I touch when working on a car is a keyboard. I have been a customer of both AMS and RnR, not to mention other vendors here as well. To be honest, I have always had good transactions and products from everyone. Perhaps I'm the luckiest EVO owner. My point is that I wanted to give an objective point of view, from a guy that likes both vendors and has worked with both products.

Take care guys.

I would really like to see this manifold. Is there anyway he can send it in to have it repaired? This is the first in over 90 manifolds now that we have heard of. You have to understand out point of view. Right now we are going off of someones word. If indeed it is cracked we need to source where and how it cracked so that it never happens again.

We ended up talking about it some time ago. It was cracked near the wastegate. You guys said you had found that problem and corrected it. The one I am talking about had the wastegate almost fall off. It has since been repaired and sold.

The wastegate on the AMS setup isn't a part of the manifold...

I am puzzled now, the AMS kit has the wastegate off the turbine which isn't a part of the manifold. The wastegate is also supported by the wastegate outlet tube, so it is very well supported.

No, don't be puzzled. You're right. I stand corrected with regards to the crack. It was off the turbine. I forgot about that.
