Boosting?

I installed my new Hallman manual boost controller last night. Seems like it made a pretty could difference. I took someone for a ride that has never been in an EVO before and he was quite impressed, and I hadn't even turned up the boost yet. It was turned all the way down to about 10 psi. Should have seen his face when I ran it up to 21 psi, and a little higher, before I hit the fuel cut. It pulls much harder up to redline now with boost peaking around 21. Here are my questions:
1) The boost peaks higher than stock, but there still is a little taper, but not like stock was. Is this normal, or do I have a slight boost leak?
2) In stock form, when you rev the car in nuetral it doesn't develop boost, now with the boost controller it does develop a little. You can here the turbo suck the air in and then the bov releasing it. sounds pretty cool. Is this normal?
I hooked the boost controller up between the turbo and the wastegate, cutting the stock boost control solenoid out of the system. It is hooked up right I am just curious if I have a leak. The black soft parts of the intake expand under boost, thought maybe one started to leak. Thanks for your input!

stock bov might be leaking a little but losing 1-3 psi is normal by redline
