Can anyone answer this question?

This recently came up when me a couple of friends were drinking and talking about cars.

how does a 6 puck ... grip better then a single disk clutch??
a single has more surface area... Would that make it grip better? the more surface to hold on too?

and then also a twin/triple disk? wouldn't that be more spinning objects and make it slower at engaging??

Can anyone answer these questions??

you dont want a six puch on the evo it wiil be to hard on the driveline. I would go with a twin disk.

a twin or triple disc puts only half as much pressure on each disc therefore you can use it twice as hard. 6puck is unsprung, but not actually sure on how it works.

ok right that makes more since... but i still dont get how something with less surface area can grip better

The pressure plate puts out a set amount of pressure. The 6 puck has less disk area then a full disk, so the force per in^2 is much greater. Which means it grabs harder, wears faster, and is more on/off when driving.
