Just picked up a 05 EB EVO 8. I was wondering if anybody knows what the BOV sound you hear when in high rpms [5-6000] and the car kind of looses HP. Feels like a fuel cut off. Hope I explained it correctly, tried to search but nothing.

 

Never heard of such a thing. Is your stock air intake snorkel fastened down with the 2 clips?

 

stock bov is made of plastic.may have a crack or loose ,still get a real bov..good luck bro

English Translation: It May have a crack in it, or it maybe lose. You need to get a real blow off valve. LOL!

 

Sounds like boost taper to me. My '05 does the same thing. If you have a gauge, you will see it drop a few PSI at that RPM.

 

Yeah i hear it too....my car is bone stock. Does sound kinda like a bov opening at high boost, but I always thought it was the wastegate allowing boost to taper. Dont know if thats correct though. If your seeing normal boost pressures I wouldnt worry about it. My car doesnt have a boost gauge so its hard for me to tell whats going on.
