I reccommend using BG synchroshift for the tranny. I threw some in on my 3rd change at
21,000 miles and noticed a good improvement. It seems a little quieter and shifts alot smoother.

Which dealer told you to put that in your transmission?

i'm so **** now. i saw the Can with LSD Gear Oil so I asked the dealer guy 3 time is that the correct one and he said Yes and look at me like a dumbass. by the way, DO NOT BUY CAR from Puente Hill Mitsu. They try to rip me off when i shop for Evo. The manager quote me $4000 down, 750 a month to LEASE the Evo for 64 months.

The lack of knowledge in the service dept about the Evo at some dealers can be a problem. I had a dealer parts employee tell me that if I changed my own oil it would void my warranty. He was telling me this as I was picking up my oil filter. I talked with the manager and he told me that was false.

Here is a good write up on how to change all your fluids.

The factory shop manual states as follows: Manual Transaxle; API class GL-4 SAE 75w-85w or 75w-90w.
The quantity required is 2.9 quarts.
If this fluid meets API class GL-4 it is correct. if it meets API class GL-5 it is for the transfer case. Look on the back of the can for the spec of the contents and act accordingly. If the dealer's parts man gives you trouble ask him to look at the back cover of any volume of the four volumes that make up the factory shop manual. It says what it says.

Like stated above that is for the t-case and rear diff only. I use the BG synchro shift and so far I like it. You can go down to Autozone and pick up some Pennzoil synchromesh for 5 bucks a quart and I hear that is really good stuff as well. At least when you do the tranny fluid you can change out t-case rear diff fluid now. Goodluck.

There is no dipstick. With the car level the fluid should be up to the bottom of the fill hole.
