hey guys .....when i drive my evo, theres this weird noise that comes out of my engine...it sounds like a high pitched whistle and i dont know where it is coming from....i went to the dealer and they told me it was the intercooler fmic...but i just installed an ams one yesterday and the noise is still there...anyone know where this sound might be coming from...so far i changed my intake and the upper ic pipe , ams fmic and the lower ic pipe...so everything there is pretty tight and no leaks...any advice or suggestions would bbe appreciated...thanks

 

Thats to be expected, with an intake and IC piping your going to hear the turbo sucking in air and the air travelling through the pipes.

 

no..the problem is....the noise was there already before i putted in anything..

 

Does it do it if the clutch is in and you just rev the motor???Or does it only happen when your in gear under load???

 

Does it happen at only a certain rpm, and do you have the stock intake box?

 

check ur hoses...probably one of them popped off...and check the one behind the engine on the upper left hand corner.

 

hey guys....when i rev it without driving...i still hear it near the high end...a little squeak...and i'll check the one behind the engine on the upper left hand corner...thanks guys..and i dont have the stock air box anymore..i had it before...it still squeaks..

 

and also...i have a boost gauge..and i can hear the squeak before the turbo even kicks in..
