Buschur race "chip" - a big success

Thanks to the master Mr. David Buschur at Buschur Racing we now have the "Race Chip" option which you simply plug into a sensor plug in two minutes to transform your car for race situations

I was feeling that this device would be a winner for people who use reflashed ecu's for racing by negating the stock ecu coolant enrichment which is overly conservative - (especially where the ecu is properly mapped)

Here is a test of the "Race Chip" on a bone stock 2005 MR with boost controlling flash and 100 octane fuel

This pull is in 5th gear

Before race chip and after - NO tuning made

Not bad results for a $5 part Only available through Buschur Racing

You know, the ecu has a coolant enrichment for a reason. It's there to prevent the engine from overheating.

This "Chip" is used in racing situations with race fuel when my normal ecu tuning is already way rich - (usual range 11.1 - 11.3 a/f ratio) leaving you with a huge margin of saftey and no need for additional enrichment.

Your dash collantg gauge remains 100% effective to monitor collant temps.

The run in the above dyno sheet got even smoother and ran perfect with the "Chip" active.

I understand that this device is $5 for those who already have the Buschur Flash and free to those who purcahse the Buschur Flash.

Its good for at least 20 whp in 4th and 5th gear.

PS - the car which this went on is road racing at Watkins Glen next week and hits 160 mph at that track. We will see how it fares under extreme abuse.

from what I read it will only be sold for people that race that you would not benefit on a daily driver

I really doubt it gained that much power from a/f alone. The chip had to put back the timing that coolant enrichment took out. Again, to keep the engine from overheating.

Are we sure the enrichment is to keep the car from overheating? I thought it was to minimize the chance of detonation and this is why they run the chip with race gas.
