I agree with BR, I don't think there should be boost lost.... could it be that the system seems more laggy than stock and you are not giving it a chance to build full boost? BTW, no boost lost with my ARC and stock turbo.

not to be a d i c k or anything but david u are wrong. u are right in the sence that if the intercoller flows better u will gain or remain the same boost, but when i upgrade to a larger core there is much more surface area and volume for that pressure to go through there for u will loose some. a good core u wont loose any more than 1psi but u will gain that power back in lower charge temp. i mean even on your website (buschurracing.com) it says and i quote " The core is rated for 750hp with only .84 psi pressure drop. " u will gain boost if u are eliminating bends and if the new cores flow characteristics are a lot better, but when u get a much larger core to fill up u will loose some .

ok well there is two sides to this story, u wont loose pressure per say but u will do to the volume that u have to fill. the more volume the turbo has to fill, the longer it takes to fill the core. there for time is a huge issue here. if u were to put a huge intercoller on a stock turbo, it would take way to much time to fill that amount of volume up and by the time u did u would be at redline. that is where u see the pressure drop. its all predicated upon how much cfm the turbo pushes. thats y a good company like buschur will do research and find the best flow so that u wont see any drop.

simple geometry will answer the question.

What happens when you have a garden hose with a nozzle on it? the hose gets pressurized and becomes somewhat stiff the water also comes out in stream. however take the nozzle off and the water just sort of leaks out and the hose never becomes pressurized. why? becuse the volume of water is less than the capacity of the hose. thus you will need to increase the volume of water to acquire the same pressure that you had when you had the nozzle on the hose.

your pressure drop is very normal.

you noticed a power increase up top and you suspect a leak?

interesting logic.

do you use that same logic in determining if someone is a ***** too?

i always thought that when you install a new intercooler and new pipes, you will have to turn up the boost. David is saying the opposite... I'm totally lost now.

it depends on the size and flow of the intercooler. some you may, and some you may not.

evildylan, y dont people listen to us. i mean it not just a coincedence that most companies tell u that there intercoller will give u a pressure drop. even david himself tell people that, thats y i dont understand y he is saying what he is saying. due to the volume of the intercoller being bigger, its takes more time to fill ir up with the same pressure. and remember that turbos will bleed off some boost as u get into high rpm's. but all u have to know is that once u install one, u will feel like u hit nitrous from 60 mph plus. the charge cools and makes it much more dence and really puts more air into the cylinders.
