2.2 stroker questions

I know the JUN 2.2 stroker kit is available.

Knowing this kit can spin to 9000 rpm, what allows this to be done at 2.2 and not 2.3? Is it the components of this kit? and if so, why couldn't you put this kit together yourself just by using components that make the JUN 2.2 kit?

Has anyone ever done this? Anyone know the 2.2 component specs for someone to try this? JUN 2.2 9000 rpm limit, while .1 more ltr would bring you down to 7500 rpm limit. What gives? Is it the bearings, piston wieght, rod specs? What's up?

wasn't there a huge thread about stroker kits and their rev limits?

most likely is that the whole set is balanced as a whole to tighter tolerances... but I am not 100% sure

I'm pretty sure the Jun kit has a much better rod/stroke ratio which allows it to rev higher. I also believe the Jun crank is forged.

Here is a good thread to read about revving a stroker engine.

Its about stroke length and piston speeds.
stock is 88mm, jun 94mm, 2.3/2.4 mitsu 100mm.
The piston has to travel faster per revolution.

Is the 94mm crank availible to buy seperatly, or is it something I would have specail order from one of two people in the country thus costing a bunch of cash?

I think Jun sells their forged 94mm crank check around. Z1auto and Gruppe-s should be able to give you a definitive answer.

You can get the JUN kit, but just to give you an idea it's around $6,000! Crower also sells a forged 2.3L crank for a bit less.

I don't want to spend 6000 on something that could cost me 1500 total. I'm short a good 94mm crank. Has anyone bought just a forged 94mm crank to complete a 2.2 setup?
